Chapter 93: Skirmish (1)
Chapter 93: Skirmish (1)
Before Mirian’s sword could befall him, Song appeared and kicked her away, interrupting the attack successfully.
"Are you alright?"
She asked as she helped him up. Seraph nodded with a serious expression, looking at the woman who was growling in anger.
"Seraph, leave this fight to me. I’ll handle her."
He nodded and quietly backed away while the two women had a face-off.
He reached into his storage ring and pulled out a weapon he hadn’t used in years.
"Bringing a gun to a sword fight, huh..."
He muttered to himself, then hid between the rocks of the mountain.
From there, he targeted one disciple from the Inferno Sect, who was about to kill Seraph’s fellow disciple.
Bang!
The disciple stiffened, a hole right on his forehead. He collapsed to the ground, surprising the Soul Cross Sect disciples around.
Seraph didn’t pause and continued loading bullets.
Bang!
The sound of the gunshot was naturally loud, but was drowned by the chaotic loudness of the ongoing skirmish.
This gave Seraph the perfect cover to not be exposed.
Two more enemies were taken down before the Inferno Sect finally realized something was wrong.
"Someone is using a strange means to kill us! Elder!"
One disciple cried out for Mirian’s help, but was mercilessly shot down.
The woman’s eyes widened at the girls bizarre death, getting momentarily distracted.
"Oops."
Seraph muttered with a smile, then aimed his last bullet at her. He knew it wouldn’t be enough to kill her, so he only aimed to impair her movements.
Bang!
He targeted her ribs, but she was actually fast enough to shift slightly. The bullet ended up hitting her shoulder instead.
"Damn you!"
Her furious gaze locked onto Seraph was who was hiding, and he immediately hid the gun while standing.
"Hello," He waved casually with a smile. "You shouldn’t get distracted, you know?"
Mirian’s eyes widened, but before she could react, Song’s chain blade sliced into her bag, drawing a line of blood.
"Haap!"
The woman was filled with rage and immediately cast a wide-range fire technique to prevent Song from approaching.
"Are you scared?"
Song grinned, then cast her soul pressure as a barrier around her.
With a smile, dashed at Mirian with an earth drill in her left hand.
The Inferno Sect elder immediately blocked the dangerous attack by using a flame shield.
"You’re already losing, Mirian." Song said solemnly, her gaze filled with killing intent.
Mirian frowned and looked at her disciples. They were already being slaughtered by a new addition to the battle.
"That guy... he’s a Core Disciple? No wonder."
She glared at him, but Song’s attack forced her to refocus on the battle before her.
"I’ll handle it later. I should deal with you first."
Soon, the two of them clashed, shaking the air around them.
Seraph jumped into the fray of the battles between the disciples, slaughtering the enemies with his spear.
Most of them were Peak Advanced Stage cultivators, while only a few were at the Master Stage.
’I have to reduce the casualties.’
Realizing this, Seraph charged at the Master Stage disciples.
One of them noticed him and swung his hammer straight at Seraph.
The white-haired young man blocked with a water wall, then swung his spear straight at him.
The disciple shifted in surprise, but still had his hand amputated at the shoulder joint.
He shrieked in pain, seeing blood gush out from the wound. Stumbling back, he immediately called for reinforcement from his fellow disciples.
The remaining two Master Stage disciples rushed forward to support him, then glared at Seraph.
"Kill him..."
The injured disciple said weakly.
Seraph smiled and beckoned at the duo, signaling for them to come close.
The first one, a young man with burn marks on his face like a certain cartoon prince, rushed at Seraph and threw a flaming kick.
Seraph blocked with his spear, only for another kick to come straight at his jaw.
Leaning back, he narrowly avoided the attack while shooting a water blades right at him.
The scarred man snorted and threw a flaming punch at the attack.
Bang!
The water blades was shattered, but he also suffered a cut on his knuckles.
Hissing in pain, he paused slightly. The other disciple appeared beside him and threw four swift punches at Seraph.
Each punch generated a phantom flame fist that flew straight at Seraph.
He easily sliced through the flame fists with his spear, then dashed at the two while releasing his soul pressure.
The two disciples paled at the bizarre force pressing down on them.
Seraph was no longer smiling.
"You both are trash. Don’t waste my time."
A single swing of his spear, and the two disciples were beheaded. Even though they were both Initial Master Stage cultivators, they couldn’t even pose a slight threat to Seraph.
It made him disappointment.
After killing the two, he went after the injured disciple, finishing him off too.
Then, he became a reaper on the battlefield, killing several other enemies and reducing the large number of Inferno Sect disciples.
Although most of the Summer Peak disciples didn’t recognize him, they knew he was on their side with his robes alone.
"A core disciple appeared! But he hasn’t used any flame skills! Is he from another Peak?"
"Wait. I know him. I’ve fought him during our entrance examination many years ago."
Someone said, pausing to look at Seraph with wide eyes.
It was Marcus, and he was surprised to see Seraph again years after their joint mission to escort the little princess.
"It’s him? Oh, now I remember those eyes."
Thanks, the inner court disciple whom he admired also recognized Seraph and smiled.
"He’s really very strong now."
Marcus immediately snorted and dashed back into battle. "Focus on killing your enemies, Sister Thana."
After all the years, he had also become an inner court disciple with Peak Advanced Stage cultivation, being on the same level with Thana.
Seraph noticed the duo but paid no attention to them. Instead, he continued slaughtering more Inferno Sect disciples while waiting for a signal.
Finally, he saw someone shoot at him with great speed, and he smiled.
"So you took the bait."
