Chapter 109: Closed-Door Cultivation
Chapter 109: Closed-Door Cultivation
An hour later, the agonizing meeting came to an end, and the disciples left one after the other.
Now alone with the duo, Song’s vanished.
"What are the two of you doing? Advertising your affection for each other?"
Seraph smiled weakly. "It’s not like that, Elder."
"Not like that?" Song tilted her head, giving a smile that was not a smile. "So... how is it like?"
Her gaze shifted to Sylvia who was still snuggled in his arms.
"I can’t believe this is my own blood. Snuggling in the arms of a man several years younger than you, aren’t you ashamed?"
Sylvia’s grip on Seraph tightened, but she stubbornly continued to pretend she was sleeping.
"Uh..."
Realizing that the girl wasn’t ready to face her sister, Seraph sighed and decided to change the topic.
"We went on a mission, and we got something big."
Song’s brows furrowed. She sensed what he was trying to do, but she was also curious.
"What is that? It better be something good."
He smiled confidently and passed the golden storage ring to her.
"Wait. The Inferno Sect?"
Seeing the insignia on the ring, she was surprised. The ring definitely belonged to a high-ranking member of the Inferno Sect.
"Check it." Seraph smiled brightly, knowing she would definitely be surprised.
Song eyed him suspiciously, then peeked inside with her spiritual sense. Her brows furrowed, then her eyes widened in shock.
"This...?!"
Her gaze snapped to him in shock, sharp and demanding an explanation.
"Wait. Wait. Wait. I didn’t steal it. Well, maybe I did. But it wasn’t their property.. yet." He hurriedly explained to avoid misunderstandings.
"Explain in detail, how you got this."
She sounded dead serious, so Seraph complied and answered her to the best of his abilities.
He narrated the story about how they had taken a scouting mission, then followed some Inferno Sect disciples to their camp in the Congo Mountains, where they realized the secret the Inferno Sect had been hiding.
"They were mining these...?" Song asked carefully, taking a look at the ring again.
"Yes. When we realized that, I decided to steal—ahem, take it from them." He answered. "It was surprisingly easy. I just disguised myself as one of them, stumbled onto the one with the ring and swapped them."
Song almost couldn’t believe it. Venturing into the enemy den meant there was a high chance he would be caught.
Yet, he had done so and even stole something valuable from them. She felt appalled.
"This is a very huge surprise, Seraph." She breathed a sigh, trying to steady the hand that was holding the ring.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t seen diamond spirit crystals before. The issue was that they were exceedingly rare, and she had never seen them in a large amount before.
Sighing again, she tossed the ring back to him. "Since you guys got it, it’s all yours. Don’t let anyone in the sect know, though."
Seraph nodded, then took out around three hundred diamond spirit crystals.
"The reason why I told you about it first is so you won’t pass out in shock when I give them as a gift."
Song’s eyes narrowed. "You... want to give me this? Shouldn’t you guys benefit from it as much as you can?"
He shook his head. "I can tell, this is enough to satiate the rest of us. Besides, you should also attempt breakthrough into the Emperor Stage soon."
An indescribable emotion crossed Song’s eyes at his words, and she looked at the crystals in a daze. After a moment, she raised her head and looked at him.
"I will remember this as another favor I owe you."
Seraph rolled his eyes and stood up with Sylvia still in his arms.
"You can think of it as your sister giving you. So it’s free."
Without giving her a chance to reply, he rushed upstairs.
"That brat."
Smiling faintly, she took the spirit crystals into her storage ring, then went to her private cultivation quarters.
Meanwhile, Seraph set down the lady in his arms as soon as they were out of Song’s sight.
"You were really troublesome today." He said with a short laugh.
"Sorry, I couldn’t face them all." She said in a low voice. "So... how do we split it?"
The golden ring was still in Seraph’s hand, and she was curious how he wanted to share it.
"Give me your storage ring." He said, and she obediently handed it over to her.
After transferring a substantial amount to her ring, he returned it to her.
"You decide on how much you want to give Left and Right from that."
Checking it, Sylvia’s eyes widened in shock. "Hey! This is too much! How many do you have left?"
Seraph waved dismissively. "Forget that. Instead, you should focus on cultivating with that. Also, do not rush it. Once you make a breakthrough, stabilize your dantian, alright?"
"Ugh... you’re so stubborn."
She punched him lightly on his shoulder, then nodded. "I’ll take your advice."
Seraph smiled. "Hm, see you soon."
He immediately walked to his guest room while she returned to the Inner Court dormitory to find the twins.
’Halo, How fast do you think I can break through into the King Stage with these?’
["Hmm... to be honest, it should probably take a week or two. Your body is tuned to receive as much spiritual energy as possible. However, you should also take your own advice. After breaking through to the King Stage, you should stop cultivating for a few months."] Halo replied seriously, much to Seraph’s ’surprise’.
’Hm? Why is that? I can take Foundation Stabilizing pills, though.’
Seraph was a bit perplexed.
["Sigh. No matter how great you are, you are still an ignorant brat."] Halo scoffed in disdain. ["Pills are simply alternative and artificial measures. If you don’t want to cripple yourself, don’t use too much of those pills."]
Nodding slowly, Seraph felt like it was understandable.
’Alright, I’ll remember not to use them.’
Sighing, he sat on the bed with his legs crossed beneath each other.
His eyes closed softly, and with a wisp of his spiritual energy, he brought out ten diamond spirit crystals and began cultivating.
