The Most Powerful Wealth System

Chapter 117. The heavy rain

Chapter 117. The heavy rain

Riki woke up in the morning as usual. However, the morning atmosphere was rather gloomy, as the sky was overcast and the air felt very cold.

Riki had just gotten out of bed and opened the door to his balcony when suddenly heavy rain poured down on the city.

Riki hurried back into his room and closed the balcony door tightly.

Not only was it raining heavily, but thick fog also covered the surrounding area.

Riki was about to go down to the kitchen to make a hot drink when suddenly a screen appeared in front of him.

[Today’s mission is a bit special, master! You have to go to one of the small towns and open a business there]

[The system does not limit the type of business you want to create there, but it must be a business that benefits the residents of the small town. Take advantage of the natural beauty of the town for your business as well]

[Find someone in the small town to run your business. You have one month to complete this mission. You can also take a vacation there and relax]

[Here are the small towns you can choose from]

[The reward for running this business is still a secret, but there will be a penalty if you refuse this mission]

[You only have one day to choose a town]

Riki was speechless. He didn’t react much, but his brain was busy processing the mission.

The system screen changed, giving Riki a list of small town names to choose from.

Seeing the list of town names there, Riki understood why the system was asking him to move and build a business.

"Oh, you’re awake, Rik?"

Riki looked up at Anton, who had just entered the kitchen.

"Anton, what a coincidence... I have a good job for you today," said Riki.

"A job?" Nicho appeared from behind Anton’s large body, with his typical just-woken-up face. It was very funny to Riki, but he tried to refrain from laughing in such a serious situation.

"Yes, Oh, Nicho can join this job... I’ll give you a reward if you succeed. It’s just an easy job," said Riki.

Hearing this, Nicho looked very enthusiastic, "Then I want to try it! Let me do it, Anton is very busy."

"I’m not that busy! We can do it together!"

Riki shook his head, smiling amusedly, he was just happy to see Nicho and Anton so enthusiastic to hear what job Riki wanted to give them.

"No, Nicho, Anton has to do it too, because it’s impossible for you to do it alone. Now, you two sit down and wait while I make this drink, then I’ll tell you."

Anton and Nicho sat quietly on the chairs, watching Riki make drinks for them.

Riki was making palm sugar latte, using liquid palm sugar that Riki got from Jay. Riki had tried making it the night before; he just wanted to experiment with his coffee, and it turned out he was hooked on the taste.

Warm palm sugar latte in the morning, paired with warm buttered toast—all made by Riki.

A morning with heavy rain turned into a warm and pleasant morning.

"Alright, while you eat the toast and drink, I’ll explain your tasks. So, I plan to start a business in a small town. But I don’t know which small town is right for me, or what kind of business would be suitable there. So, I’ll give you a list of small towns I want to visit. You two will research those towns and figure out what kind of business would be suitable there. Work together to find out."

Anton and Nicho looked at each other.

Nicho thought it was an interesting job, while Anton was confused as to why he had to work with a kid like Nicho. It wasn’t that Anton looked down on Nicho, it was just that he thought he could do the job himself.

"Oh yeah, if possible, get everything done by lunchtime, okay?" added Riki.

"Sure! Leave it to us!" exclaimed Nicho, finally having something to do. Because he had nothing else to do that day. No school, no plans with friends, no new games that interested him. The only thing that might happen was Sofie bothering him. But that was unlikely that day, because Sofie had promised to play with Anton’s niece, the little girl who had just moved into the house.

"If everything is already decided, what will you do with it, Riki?" Anton asked.

Riki turned to Anton and smiled broadly, "Of course I’ll go there and build my business, Anton, what else? Do you want to come— hey! Nicho can’t come."

Nicho clicked his tongue in annoyance, just as he was about to reply that he wanted to come along.

"I’ll stay there as long as necessary," added Riki.

Anton furrowed his brow, surprised by Riki’s decision.

"But... all of a sudden? Then I have to come along. I don’t want anything to happen to you there."

Hearing this, Riki laughed, thinking Anton’s words were ridiculous.

"Anton, I’m not the weak Riki anymore, and besides, don’t you remember that I protected you from Hansen—"

"Okay, okay, you’re strong now, but there are so many possibilities that could happen in that new place, Riki. I’ll find the safest small town among the ones you recommended, but still, I have to come with you. If it’s not me, bring your friend, Evan for example. Don’t go there alone."

Riki laughed even harder, he was very happy to hear Anton worrying about him. He didn’t expect his relationship with Anton to have changed. Now Riki felt that they were truly brothers.

"Okay, I don’t intend to go alone either."

The rain continued to pour down on the city, with no sign of stopping anytime soon.

It was around eight in the morning, when it should have been bright and sunny. However, it was still dark, with the rain pouring down incessantly.

Riki, who was standing by the window, looked outside from his office and felt very restless.

He didn’t even know why he felt restless when he saw the heavy rain that never seemed to stop.

To distract himself from the rain, he grabbed his smartphone. The first thing that caught his attention was a message from Liz.

The girl said she was on vacation at that time, for the next five days. After a busy schedule given by her agency, she was always busy, with no time even for herself. Suddenly, she said she wanted to meet Riki, but she sent a message to make sure that Riki wasn’t busy either. Because if Riki was busy, she wouldn’t bother him.

Judging from the message, it seemed that Liz wasn’t confident that Riki would accept her invitation.

It was very strange, why would Riki refuse, even if he was busy?

Riki replied to Liz’s message.

(Where are you? I’ll clear my schedule today and accompany you all day if you want. I’ll pick you up.)

Liz’s reply came quickly. She said Riki could pick her up at her dorm in an hour.

The dormitory in question was an apartment provided by the company for Liz and her group members to live together. This was so they could get to the company quickly when needed, as the apartment was close to the company. The dormitory was created so they could bond with each other.

Moreover, with the dormitory, their manager could find them quickly.

Even so, they were still allowed to go home, especially when they had no schedule.

Riki finished his work quickly, then got up. Before leaving, he cleaned himself up first. Even though it was cold because of the heavy rain, Riki still took a cold shower because he was used to it.

Before leaving, he said goodbye to Anton, who was in the living room with Nicho, working on Riki’s assignment.

"I’m leaving now. You can send me your assignments via text or email. I might be home late tonight, so don’t look for me," said Riki.

"I need to know where you are, Rik," replied Anton quickly.

"I’ll just be in town, I’m leaving now!"

Anton clicked his tongue in annoyance when Riki didn’t clearly say where he was going. Riki seemed to be avoiding the question.

"He’s suspicious, right, Nicho?"

Nicho shrugged, "I don’t know, but I think he might be going on a date with someone."

Nicho’s careless remark made Anton feel surprised. It wasn’t that he didn’t like Riki dating, he would definitely support him, even though he was worried about it. It’s just that, just last night, Riki said he would only focus on work.

Riki also said that making a lot of money was his priority right now.

But suddenly, Riki went on a date.

"I think you’re right..." Anton muttered.

"Hi, everyone! Did you miss me?" Selene arrived with her usual commotion, along with Sean, who looked lethargic.

"Why are you here, Sels?" asked Nicho, who was very happy to see Sean carrying several boxes of pizza.

"I’m on vacation, five days off! I planned to hang out today, but why won’t the rain stop? It’s so annoying," said the girl, then she sat next to Anton, still grumbling about the situation.

"But Riki left, even though it’s raining," replied Anton.

Selene sighed in annoyance, "Yeah, he’s going with Liz, I think."

Anton raised an eyebrow; he had suspected it—Riki must have a connection with Liz. But why hadn’t they made their relationship official yet? Anton didn’t understand.
