Chapter 132 132: Heaven-Piercing Starquake
Chapter 132 132: Heaven-Piercing Starquake
Shinji was a little baffled. Tatsumaki's temper really was impossible to read.
Soon after, he and Tatsumaki arrived beyond the borders of City A, moving more than ten kilometers away to avoid harming any civilians.
"This spot will do." Feeling the location was suitable, Tatsumaki stopped.
"Mm." Shinji stood opposite her, the two separated by about ten meters.
"I probably can't beat you, but think of it as me getting a sparring partner. I'll still give it my all." Tatsumaki admitted frankly that she was at a disadvantage in strength. She couldn't even kill that one-eyed monster, let alone the master who was controlling it.
Shinji gave a small nod. "Then let's begin…"
As soon as his words fell, Tatsumaki made her move.
A faint green glow spread across her body as she rushed toward Shinji with her fastest possible speed, at the same time launching a high-speed spiraling air blast aimed at his chest.
The blast surged forward like a storm, ripping and tearing at Shinji's body.
Yet Shinji didn't dodge with his intangibility. Instead, he instantly activated the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki mode, showing full respect and sincerity toward this battle.
With his current Sage of Six Paths body, even without intangibility, he could almost completely ignore Tatsumaki's attacks.
At this stage, only Boros might be able to wound him. As for Saitama… that was a different matter altogether.
The air blast's strike only made Shinji's body tremble slightly, while the massive boulders a hundred meters behind him were instantly shredded into dust.
"…What?"
Seeing Shinji take her attack head-on without the slightest injury left Tatsumaki stunned.
She had known there was a gap between their strengths, but it seemed that gap was far wider than she had imagined.
"Then how about this!" Refusing to accept it, Tatsumaki unleashed her full psychic power.
She conjured colossal tornadoes capable of tearing apart anything in their path. Sand and rocks were swept up, while boulders, weeds, and trees were shredded into fragments and dragged into the storm.
The ground itself split open, rising up like towering stone walls to trap Shinji within, leaving him nowhere to run. Even the distant sea was forcibly drawn toward them, forming a towering tsunami over a hundred meters high.
But Shinji remained motionless. None of it could pierce his body's defense.
After enduring wave after wave of natural disaster-level assaults, he still stood completely unscathed.
"Damn it… not even a scratch…"
Although Tatsumaki said that with frustration, the expression on her face only grew more excited. She was enjoying the fight.
At least she didn't have to worry about overdoing it and breaking Shinji.
At that moment, Tatsumaki raised her hand and made a grasping motion toward him.
A vast stretch of surrounding rocks shattered under her psychic power and hurtled toward Shinji, resembling another version of "Planetary Devastation."
Though compared to that technique, the scale was clearly far smaller.
"Shinra Tensei!" Shinji repelled all the rocks at once.
Staying passive any longer was meaningless. He decided to raise the intensity a bit to see just how much Tatsumaki could handle.
At that moment, just as Tatsumaki was preparing to use another technique against Shinji, she saw a massive figure suddenly manifest around him, a blue giant with two faces and four arms.
She recognized it. She had seen Shinji summon Susanoo before.
But this one… looked different.
This Susanoo had no face at the front. Instead, two faces were on its left and right sides, with two pairs of arms extending from each side as if two bodies had fused together.
At the same time, both Shinji and the Susanoo formed three different hand seals in unison, completing them in an instant.
"What are you doing?!" Tatsumaki asked at once.
To her, those hand seal movements looked bizarre and meaningless.
"You'll find out soon enough." Shinji replied calmly.
The moment his words fell, the first meteor broke through the clouds.
The one summoned by Edo Madara had a diameter of about 256 meters, but the meteor Shinji called forth now was already over a thousand meters wide (PS: based on official game data).
The once clear sky instantly darkened, as if something enormous had blotted out the sun.
The strange phenomenon forced Tatsumaki to tilt her head upward, where she saw the massive meteor descending.
Anyone who looked up to see such a sight would feel their heart skip a beat. Even Tatsumaki's pupils shrank rapidly. That meteor was impossibly huge.
Could it be that Shinji had directly pulled it down from outer space with psychic power?
Tatsumaki knew she could never drag such a massive object down from space.
In truth, the meteor wasn't pulled from space at all. Shinji had summoned it.
"Chibaku Tensei" was one thing, but Tengai Shinsei worked more like a summoning technique. It definitely wasn't a natural space rock. Otherwise, when Edo Madara had used it, it wouldn't have nearly wiped out only the Allied Shinobi Forces, the destruction would have been far greater.
Besides, if it really had been a meteor from outer space, it wouldn't have maintained such a perfectly spherical shape during descent.
"Miss Tatsumaki, try stopping this." Shinji smiled as he spoke.
"You…!"
Tatsumaki was almost furious. How could he still be smiling at a time like this?
But his attitude only ignited her fighting spirit. She was determined to stop that meteor and prove herself to Shinji.
Her method was simple and direct: she used her psychic power to seize control of it.
It wasn't an object from the far reaches of space but a meteor summoned right before them, already close to the ground. Even with a diameter exceeding a thousand meters, Tatsumaki still believed she could control it.
Shinji simply watched. He could have made it harder for her by using Bansho Ten'in to increase its pull, but that would have been too unfair.
Sweat began to bead on Tatsumaki's face, her expression tense. Even while unleashing her full power, all she could do was slow the meteor's descent. She couldn't instantly stop it.
With its colossal mass and the force of gravity pulling it down, the amount of strength needed to hold it in place was beyond imagination.
"Now!"
When the meteor's fall had slowed enough, Tatsumaki roared and pushed her psychic power to the absolute limit, forcing the meteor to freeze in midair.
A strained smile crossed her face as she fixed her gaze on Shinji. Her eyes clearly said: See? This is what I can do.
"Not bad," Shinji said lightly. "But… what about the second one?"
…
PS: A quick note here about Blast. The version appearing here is the Murata version for now, which is the one most people are familiar with. However, ONE's version of Blast has never actually shown up. I'm going to follow ONE's version as the basis. Murata's portrayal feels almost completely separate from what ONE intended. I think the fact that ONE has kept Blast hidden all this time must be deliberate foreshadowing…
